Report #9-1531-R2A – Chapter 3

Abstract

Chapter 3 of the research report presents an examination focusing on motorcycle crashes associated with roadway departures. The analysis is centered around three specific states: Louisiana, Texas, and Utah. Cluster Correspondence Analysis was applied to explore the trends and configurations among critical contributing factors to these crashes. Furthermore, to gain a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of critical factors, advanced statistical models were used. By using these models, this study quantified the effects of different factors, shedding light on the intricate interplay between these variables and the occurrence of these crashes.
